Magnus Soeson represents the third generation of bakers in his family. Born and bred in the Skåne town of Boalt, in Sweden and as the only son in a family of bakers, he was in the bakery from a tender age, helping with the chores. There was dough that had to blended, kneaded and made to rise. And recipes that had to be followed and bread that had to be both baked and sold. In short, Magnus knew everything about what it was to be a baker!
Eventually, together with his sister and a friend, he took over the family business, but after a few years, he began to be troubled with eczema and so continuing to work in the bakery was out of the question. So, Magnus sold his share of the business and instead began selling ingredients to bakeries around Sweden. This kept him hard at work for 14 years. Then, in 2000, Magnus began his career with Glimek and started selling bakery equipment in various markets around the world. It was a choice that has provided him with a broad knowledge of how machines in bakeries affect the everyday lives of people and bakers – irrespective of the type of dough and pastries, most people in the bakery industry have the same basic needs: the machines have be robust and work well, and be energy-efficient and cost-effective.
